Full transcript
Mr Karimi, you're at Liverpool Hospital's emergency department now—can you tell me exactly how you hit your head and what time this happened on Saturday afternoon?
Have you vomited, felt confused, dizzy, or lost consciousness at any point since the fall, even briefly?
Because of that confusion and the vomiting you mentioned, we need to do a CT scan of your head today to check for any bleeding or swelling.
The radiation dose is very low and considered safe for most adults; the scan itself only takes about fifteen minutes.
Yes, if you give consent, our nurse will phone your wife straight after the doctor reviews the scan, usually within one hour of you having it done.
Please don't eat or drink anything until after the scan, in case you need urgent surgery or possibly additional imaging afterwards.

Reading a transcript is not interpreting. The free daily dialogue on this site plays each segment at native speed, records you, and marks the information you transferred against the same categories examiners use — omissions, distortions, insertions — so you know where the marks went.

How the test works
