Headache Consultation and CT Referral
Nurse (speaking English) and Patient (speaking Pashto) talk through “Headache Consultation and CT Referral”. You interpret both ways — English into Pashto, and Pashto into English — one segment at a time, exactly as in the CCL test.

Can you tell me exactly when these headaches started, how often they occur, and whether anything makes them feel worse or triggers them?
Do you feel nauseous or notice any sensitivity to light or sound, and have you had any changes in your vision during these headaches?
Have you taken any pain relief such as paracetamol or ibuprofen, and if so, did it actually help reduce the pain at all?
Given how often these headaches are happening, I'd like to refer you for a CT scan at Orange Base Hospital just to rule out anything serious.
The scan itself is bulk-billed through Medicare, so you won't need to pay anything out of pocket for that appointment.
Your appointment is booked for Thursday the fourteenth at ten thirty in the morning, so please remember to bring your referral letter.
Terms in this dialogue that cost marks
CCL is marked on information transferred. These Australian terms have no direct word in most test languages — get one wrong and the segment's information is gone.
Practise it
Reading a transcript is not interpreting. The free daily dialogue on this site plays each segment at native speed, records you, and marks the information you transferred against the same categories examiners use — omissions, distortions, insertions — so you know where the marks went.

How the test works
Practice dialogue written to the CCL specification (two speakers, segments of 35 words or fewer, about 300 words). It is a practice text, not a NAATI test paper, and the AI score is this site's estimate, not a NAATI result. All Pashto dialogues · All languages
