Back Pain After a Workplace Injury
Physiotherapist (speaking English) and Patient (speaking Portuguese) talk through “Back Pain After a Workplace Injury”. You interpret both ways — English into Portuguese, and Portuguese into English — one segment at a time, exactly as in the CCL test.

Thanks for coming in, Mr. Ferreira. Can you tell me when this back pain started and what happened at work?
On a scale of one to ten, how bad is the pain right now, and does it move down into your leg at all?
Have you had any imaging done, such as an X-ray or an MRI, since the injury happened three weeks ago?
That's good news, no fracture is reassuring. I'll give you some exercises to strengthen your core; if the pain doesn't improve within two weeks, we'll refer you to your GP.
Avoid heavy lifting completely for now. Your employer should offer light duties, and icare will cover your physiotherapy sessions under the current claim.
Entendi.
You'll need three sessions a week for the next fortnight, then we'll reassess your progress. There's no cost to you while the icare claim stays open.
Terms in this dialogue that cost marks
CCL is marked on information transferred. These Australian terms have no direct word in most test languages — get one wrong and the segment's information is gone.
- light dutiesDizer 'tarefas leves' ou 'funções reduzidas temporariamente'.

Reading a transcript is not interpreting. The free daily dialogue on this site plays each segment at native speed, records you, and marks the information you transferred against the same categories examiners use — omissions, distortions, insertions — so you know where the marks went.

How the test works
Practice dialogue written to the CCL specification (two speakers, segments of 35 words or fewer, about 300 words). It is a practice text, not a NAATI test paper, and the AI score is this site's estimate, not a NAATI result. All Portuguese dialogues · All languages
