Good morning, I'm Sarah, the solicitor from Legal Aid handling your son's matter at the Children's Court next Tuesday morning.
It's a shoplifting charge from the local supermarket, and since it's his first offence, the court will likely consider a diversion program instead of a conviction.
If he completes the program successfully, he won't receive a criminal record, but he must attend all sessions and follow every condition set by the court.
The conditions include 10 hours of community service, a written apology letter, and a short interview with a youth support worker, all due within six weeks.
Legal Aid NSW will represent him free of charge, since he's sixteen and eligible under our youth legal service for this matter.
The hearing starts at 10am and usually finishes within two hours, so he shouldn't miss more than one morning of school.

Reading a transcript is not interpreting. The free daily dialogue on this site plays each segment at native speed, records you, and marks the information you transferred against the same categories examiners use — omissions, distortions, insertions — so you know where the marks went.
