Since July 2023, Parental Leave Pay has been one unified payment from Services Australia for both parents, no longer split into two separate schemes.

There's no fixed timeframe, but claims lodged through myGov are usually assessed within a few weeks, and you can lodge up to three months before the baby's birth.
