Full transcript
Your father's CT scan shows a small bleed on the brain from his fall, so we need to admit him tonight for close monitoring.
He's stable now, but we'll keep him under observation for two nights to make sure the bleed isn't getting bigger.
If he stays stable, we'll discharge him and arrange an urgent referral to a neurologist at Wollongong Hospital's Illawarra clinic.
You don't need a GP referral first — our emergency team can refer him directly, so the appointment should come through within a week.
Seeing the neurologist through the public clinic at Wollongong Hospital won't cost anything; a private specialist, though, could mean a gap fee of about one hundred dollars.
Watch for worsening headache, repeated vomiting, or confusion. If any of these appear, don't wait — bring him straight back to the emergency department immediately.
Terms in this dialogue that cost marks
CCL is marked on information transferred. These Australian terms have no direct word in most test languages — get one wrong and the segment's information is gone.
