Thank you for calling the Fair Trading hotline this morning, my name's Karen. Could you tell me what's happened with your phone?
Could you confirm whether you still have the original receipt, and let me know the exact date of purchase?
Under the Australian Consumer Law, if a product has a major fault, you're entitled to choose a refund or a replacement, not merely a repair.
Entiendo.
Fair Trading can lodge a formal complaint against the retailer and attempt mediation, although we cannot legally force an immediate refund from the store.
No, please don't return the phone yet—keep it safe, photograph the fault clearly, and submit your complaint online before taking any further action.
There isn't a fixed number of days for a reply, since it depends on how many complaints are currently being processed, but you'll get email confirmation once yours is logged.
Entiendo, muchas gracias.
Terms in this dialogue that cost marks
CCL is marked on information transferred. These Australian terms have no direct word in most test languages — get one wrong and the segment's information is gone.
Practise it
Reading a transcript is not interpreting. The free daily dialogue on this site plays each segment at native speed, records you, and marks the information you transferred against the same categories examiners use — omissions, distortions, insertions — so you know where the marks went.

How the test works
Practice dialogue written to the CCL specification (two speakers, segments of 35 words or fewer, about 300 words). It is a practice text, not a NAATI test paper, and the AI score is this site's estimate, not a NAATI result. All Spanish dialogues · All languages
