Mr. Fernández, thank you for coming back to Hunter Sexual Health Clinic today so we can go through your test results together.
Gracias, doctora. He estado muy nervioso desde que me hice la prueba la semana pasada. ¿Tiene ya los resultados?
Your test has come back positive for HIV. I know this is difficult news, but with treatment today, it is not a death sentence.

Yes, you can. With daily antiretroviral medication, most people reach an undetectable viral load within six months and live a normal, healthy life.

If you skip doses, the virus can become resistant, so daily consistency matters. Medicare and the PBS cover most costs, so it won't be expensive.
