Mental Health Review: Depression Screening and Safety Planning
GP (speaking English) and Client (speaking Cantonese) talk through “Mental Health Review: Depression Screening and Safety Planning”. You interpret both ways — English into Cantonese, and Cantonese into English — one segment at a time, exactly as in the CCL test.

Thanks for coming back in again today, Ms Cheung. Before we start, I'd like to go through the mood questionnaire you completed last week.
呢排真係冇好返,尤其係夜晚,瞓極都瞓唔著,個腦成日諗住啲唔開心嘅嘢。
Your PHQ-9 score came back at fifteen out of twenty-seven, which suggests moderate to severe depression, not just ordinary low mood.
咁嚴重㗎?如果我半夜真係頂唔順,好似撐唔到嗰陣,可以點算呀?
If you ever feel unsafe at night, please call Lifeline on thirteen eleven fourteen, or triple zero if it's an emergency, or go straight to your nearest emergency department.
哦,明白,咁我打完嗰啲熱線之後,係咪仲要再約時間同你傾多次呀?
Yes, let's meet again this Thursday at eleven o'clock, and before you leave today we'll write out a proper safety plan together.
好呀,噉如果情況一路都冇改善,係咪就要開始食藥先得㗎?
We won't start medication today without a full psychiatric assessment, but I'll refer you to a psychiatrist for review within two weeks.
咁睇精神科醫生會唔會好貴㗎?如果我負擔唔到,可以點算呀?
I'll set up a Mental Health Treatment Plan under Medicare, which can cover part of the cost if you're eligible.
明白喇,多謝醫生。噉我今日走之前就同你寫低個安全計劃,星期四見。
Terms in this dialogue that cost marks
CCL is marked on information transferred. These Australian terms have no direct word in most test languages — get one wrong and the segment's information is gone.
- lifeline保留英文專有名詞講「Lifeline」就得。
- triple zero講「000」(讀做「零零零」)或者講「Triple Zero」都得,數字保持西方數字格式。
- emergency department講「急症室」,呢個係廣東話常用而且貼切嘅講法。
- medicare直接講「Medicare」呢個英文詞就得,因為係專有名詞,廣東話冇對應詞。
Practise it
Reading a transcript is not interpreting. The free daily dialogue on this site plays each segment at native speed, records you, and marks the information you transferred against the same categories examiners use — omissions, distortions, insertions — so you know where the marks went.

How the test works
Practice dialogue written to the CCL specification (two speakers, segments of 35 words or fewer, about 300 words). It is a practice text, not a NAATI test paper, and the AI score is this site's estimate, not a NAATI result. All Cantonese dialogues · All languages
