Your blood test confirms you have chronic hepatitis B infection, so we need to arrange regular monitoring with a liver specialist to check how your liver is coping.

Your viral load is moderate and your liver function tests are mostly normal, which is a reassuring sign, but we still need ongoing checks.

Your partner and children should have a blood test first to check their immunity, then they can get vaccinated against hepatitis B if needed.

If your liver function stays normal, occasional alcohol is unlikely to cause harm, but if it becomes abnormal at any check, you'd need to stop completely.

Fatigue can occur with hepatitis B, though it's not always related. We'll monitor your liver every six months and refer you to Fiona Stanley Hospital's liver clinic.
