Youth Justice Conference for a Juvenile Shoplifting Matter
Legal Aid Solicitor (speaking English) and Parent (speaking Hindi) talk through “Youth Justice Conference for a Juvenile Shoplifting Matter”. You interpret both ways — English into Hindi, and Hindi into English — one segment at a time, exactly as in the CCL test.

Hello, I'm Priya Sharma, a solicitor from Legal Aid NSW. I've been assigned to represent your son regarding the shoplifting incident at the shopping centre last week.
नमस्ते, धन्यवाद कि आप हमारी मदद कर रही हैं। मुझे बहुत चिंता हो रही है, कृपया बताइए मेरे बेटे का क्या होगा?
Because this is his first offence and he hasn't been in trouble before, he may be eligible for a Youth Justice conference instead of going to court, if he admits responsibility.
अगर उसे यह कॉन्फ्रेंस मिल जाती है, तो क्या उसका कोई क्रिमिनल रिकॉर्ड बनेगा, या नहीं?
If he completes the conference plan successfully, no criminal record will be recorded; if he doesn't, the matter will return to court.
ठीक है, यह तो राहत की बात है। यह कॉन्फ्रेंस कब और कहाँ होगी?
The conference is scheduled for next Tuesday at 10 am, at the Youth Justice NSW office in Parramatta.
क्या मेरा वहाँ जाना ज़रूरी है, या सिर्फ मेरा बेटा ही जाएगा?
Yes, you must attend as his support person. The victim may also attend, along with a police officer and the conference convenor.
ठीक है, समझ गया। कॉन्फ्रेंस के दौरान आप वकील के तौर पर क्या करेंगी?
Yes, I can attend and give legal advice, but the conference is run by an independent convenor, not a judge or magistrate.
ठीक है, समझ गया। मैं आज ही दफ्तर में छुट्टी की बात कर लूँगा और मंगलवार सुबह ठीक दस बजे बेटे के साथ पहुँच जाऊँगा।
Terms in this dialogue that cost marks
CCL is marked on information transferred. These Australian terms have no direct word in most test languages — get one wrong and the segment's information is gone.

Reading a transcript is not interpreting. The free daily dialogue on this site plays each segment at native speed, records you, and marks the information you transferred against the same categories examiners use — omissions, distortions, insertions — so you know where the marks went.

How the test works
Practice dialogue written to the CCL specification (two speakers, segments of 35 words or fewer, about 300 words). It is a practice text, not a NAATI test paper, and the AI score is this site's estimate, not a NAATI result. All Hindi dialogues · All languages
