Riley's oxygen has settled nicely after the nebuliser, but I want to walk you through the chest X-ray we just took and the next steps.
선생님, 갑자기 숨소리가 심하게 나빠져서 너무 놀랐어요. 엑스레이는 왜 필요한 거예요? 심각한 건가요?
When wheezing gets this severe, we take a chest X-ray to rule out pneumonia or a collapsed lung, just to be thorough.
그렇군요. 그런데 엑스레이 찍으면 방사선 때문에 부작용 같은 건 없겠죠?
No, there's no real risk — a single chest X-ray uses a very low radiation dose, about the same as three days of natural background exposure.
다행이네요. 그럼 지금 먹는 흡입기는 집에서도 계속 써야 하나요?
Yes, use two puffs of the blue reliever every four hours if he's wheezing, but stop once he's breathing normally for a full day.
혹시 운동이나 찬 공기 때문에 다시 발작이 올 수도 있나요? 조심해야 할 게 있을까요?
Yes, cold air, exercise and dust can trigger another attack, so keep him indoors during high pollen days and avoid strenuous play for now.
그럼 소아 호흡기 전문의한테 다시 진료를 받아야 할까요?
I'll refer him to the paediatric asthma clinic at Monash Children's Hospital; they usually see new patients within two weeks.
