Thanks for coming in. I see from your file that you've been sneezing a lot and your eyes are itchy. How long has this been happening?
नमस्ते डाक्टर। यो समस्या करिब तीन हप्तादेखि छ। बिहान उठ्दा धेरै हाच्छिउँ आउँछ, र आँखा पनि चिलाउँछ। घाँस भएको ठाउँमा गएपछि झन् बढ्छ।
Do you have any other symptoms, like a blocked nose or itchy throat? Have you tried any medication so far?
हो, नाक बन्द भएको जस्तो लाग्छ र घाँटी पनि अलि चिलाउँछ। तर मैले अहिलेसम्म कुनै औषधि खाएको छैन, किनकि के खाने थाहा थिएन।
This sounds like hay fever, an allergic reaction to pollen. I'll recommend a non-drowsy antihistamine, which you can buy at the pharmacy without a prescription.
बुझें, डाक्टर। के यो औषधिले निद्रा लगाउँछ? म दिनभर काम गर्नुपर्छ, त्यसैले चिन्ता लाग्यो।
No, this particular one shouldn't make you drowsy, unless you're also taking other sedating medications. Just avoid alcohol while using it.
ठिक छ, धन्यवाद। मेरो श्रीमती गर्भवती हुनुहुन्छ, उनलाई पनि यस्तै समस्या छ। के उनले पनि यही औषधि खान सक्छिन्?
I'd suggest she see her own GP first, but generally pregnant women should avoid this specific antihistamine during the first trimester.
