Spanish housing vocabulary

These notes come from this language’s vocabulary list. Terms belong to this topic’s vocabulary category or occur in the dialogues above. Renderings are study aids.

Fair Trading

Council rates

Decir 'impuesto municipal' o 'tasas municipales'.

Agreeing a Rent Repayment Plan

Agreeing a Rent Repayment Plan · segment 1

Thanks for coming in, Mr Valdivia. You're six weeks behind on rent. Let's agree a repayment plan today. Besides your regular rent, what extra amount can you manage each fortnight?

Keep 'six weeks' (not months) and render 'fortnight' as cada quincena / cada dos semanas, not monthly.

Compare the model interpretation

Checking the Inventory and Collecting a Missing Garage Remote

Checking the Inventory and Collecting a Missing Garage Remote · segment 1

Before you sign the entry inventory, Mr Salcedo, let's check the garage remotes. Your lease starts on 2 November, and the inventory lists two remotes.

Keep the lease start date as 2 November and the number of remotes as two.

Compare the model interpretation

Condition Report and Rent Set-up at Lease Signing

Condition Report and Rent Set-up at Lease Signing · segment 1

Welcome, Mr Quiroga. Before taking the keys, let's go through the ingoing condition report. It records each room's state, so please note any marks or damage.

'Ingoing condition report' is a fixed term; don't water it down to a vague 'inspection' or drop 'ingoing'.

Compare the model interpretation
