Managing Depression Symptoms
General Practitioner (speaking English) and Patient (speaking Arabic) talk through “Managing Depression Symptoms”. You interpret both ways — English into Arabic, and Arabic into English — one segment at a time, exactly as in the CCL test.

Could you tell me how long you've been feeling low, and whether your sleep, appetite or energy levels have changed over the past weeks?
منذ حوالي ستة أسابيع، أشعر بالحزن الشديد طوال الوقت، ولا أستطيع النوم جيدًا، وفقدت شهيتي تقريبًا.
Have you had any thoughts of harming yourself, or moments where life felt like it wasn't worth living at all?
لا، ليس لدي أي أفكار لإيذاء نفسي، لكنني أشعر بعدم الرغبة في فعل أي شيء، حتى الأشياء البسيطة.
I'd like to set up a Mental Health Treatment Plan, which gives you Medicare-rebated sessions with a psychologist, up to ten visits this calendar year.
هذا يبدو مفيدًا، لكن هل ستكون هذه الجلسات مجانية بالكامل، أم سأحتاج لدفع جزء من التكلفة؟
Some psychologists bulk-bill under this plan, though not every clinic does, so it's worth checking their fees before you book your first appointment.
أفهم ذلك، سأتحقق من العيادة. بالمناسبة، هل تنصحني أيضًا بتناول دواء لهذه الحالة؟
We could also start a low-dose antidepressant alongside the therapy sessions, and I'd like to see you again in about two weeks to review things.
حسنًا، أوافق على تجربة ذلك. لكن كم من الوقت سأنتظر قبل أن أتمكن من رؤية أخصائي نفسي؟
There's a headspace centre in Bankstown with a shorter waiting list right now; I can book your first session for Thursday morning at ten o'clock.
شكرًا جزيلاً، هذا الوقت مناسب لي. إذا لم أستطع الحضور يوم الخميس، سأتصل لتغيير الموعد.
Terms in this dialogue that cost marks
CCL is marked on information transferred. These Australian terms have no direct word in most test languages — get one wrong and the segment's information is gone.
- medicareيُقال الاسم كما هو بالإنجليزية Medicare دون ترجمته، لأنه اسم برنامج حكومي محدد.
- waiting listتُترجم إلى 'قائمة الانتظار' وهي ترجمة مباشرة ومقبولة تمامًا.
Practise it
Reading a transcript is not interpreting. The free daily dialogue on this site plays each segment at native speed, records you, and marks the information you transferred against the same categories examiners use — omissions, distortions, insertions — so you know where the marks went.

How the test works
Practice dialogue written to the CCL specification (two speakers, segments of 35 words or fewer, about 300 words). It is a practice text, not a NAATI test paper, and the AI score is this site's estimate, not a NAATI result. All Arabic dialogues · All languages
