Thanks for coming in today, Mrs Nováková. At twenty-six weeks, it's time to organise your glucose tolerance test at John Hunter Hospital.
Dobrý den, sestro. Ano, cítím se dobře, ale trochu se bojím toho testu. Musím být nalačno, že?
Yes, you'll need to fast for at least ten hours beforehand—no food, though water is fine. The test takes about two hours total.
Dobře, to zvládnu. Mám ještě jednu otázku – poslední dny cítím menší otoky na kotnících. Je to normální?
Mild swelling is common in the third trimester, but if you notice sudden swelling in your face or hands, contact us immediately.

Have a normal diet with some carbohydrates the day before—don't fast early. Aim for at least one hundred fifty grams of carbs daily.
