Formal Complaint Against an Electrician
Consumer Affairs Officer (speaking English) and Client (speaking Czech) talk through “Formal Complaint Against an Electrician”. You interpret both ways — English into Czech, and Czech into English — one segment at a time, exactly as in the CCL test.

Full transcript
Could you tell me exactly what happened with the electrician you hired for the kitchen rewiring, and when did the work begin?
What exactly did he agree to complete, how much did you pay him as a deposit, and is any of the work still unfinished?
Měl dokončit všechny zásuvky a osvětlení.
I'd suggest sending him a written notice, by email or registered post, clearly asking him to finish the job or refund your $650 deposit.
In that notice, include the date he started, what remains incomplete, and ask him to respond within a reasonable time frame, please.
If he still doesn't respond, you can lodge a formal complaint with NSW Fair Trading, and if that doesn't resolve things, apply to NCAT afterwards.
There's no fixed fee I can quote today, so please check the current NCAT application fee and process time on their official website first.
Děkuji, teď už vím, jak postupovat. Napíšu mu ten dopis ještě dnes večer.
Terms in this dialogue that cost marks
CCL is marked on information transferred. These Australian terms have no direct word in most test languages — get one wrong and the segment's information is gone.
Practise it
Reading a transcript is not interpreting. The free daily dialogue on this site plays each segment at native speed, records you, and marks the information you transferred against the same categories examiners use — omissions, distortions, insertions — so you know where the marks went.

How the test works
Practice dialogue written to the CCL specification (two speakers, segments of 35 words or fewer, about 300 words). It is a practice text, not a NAATI test paper, and the AI score is this site's estimate, not a NAATI result. All Czech dialogues · All languages
