Thanks for calling Bupa claims team. I have your file open — you're following up on the hospital claim from Barwon Health for your knee surgery, correct?
Ano, přesně tak. Poslala jsem ten nárok asi před třemi týdny, po operaci kolena v nemocnici Barwon Health, a chtěla jsem vědět, jak to pokročilo.
I can see the claim was submitted three weeks ago, but it's been declined because a twelve-month waiting period applies to pre-existing conditions.
To mě překvapuje, protože jsem si myslela, že operace je pokrytá hned. K Bupě jsem se připojila teprve před šesti měsíci, o žádné čekací době mi nikdo neřekl.
That's right — since you joined Bupa only six months ago, the knee condition isn't covered yet, unless it required emergency hospital treatment.
Takže mi nezaplatíte vůbec nic za operaci? A co ten převoz sanitkou do nemocnice, ten aspoň proplatíte?
Unfortunately not — only the ambulance component is payable now. Once the waiting period ends, you can claim the surgery, minus the $750 excess.
Rozumím. Existuje nějaký způsob, jak se proti tomuto rozhodnutí odvolat, kdyby operace nesouvisela s žádným předchozím problémem?
You can lodge a formal appeal with a letter from your GP confirming the knee surgery wasn't related to any pre-existing condition.
Dobře, to zkusím. Jak dlouho takové odvolání obvykle trvá a stačí jen ten dopis od lékaře, nebo potřebujete i něco z nemocnice?
Appeals usually take four to six weeks. Upload the GP letter and any hospital reports through the Bupa member portal, not by email.
Děkuju za vysvětlení. Zítra zajdu za doktorkou pro potvrzení a nahraju všechno přes ten portál, jak jste říkala.
