HIV Diagnosis Consultation at a Sexual Health Clinic
Sexual Health Nurse (speaking English) and Patient (speaking Finnish) talk through “HIV Diagnosis Consultation at a Sexual Health Clinic”. You interpret both ways — English into Finnish, and Finnish into English — one segment at a time, exactly as in the CCL test.

Thanks for coming in today, Mr Laine. Your blood test results have come back from Sydney Sexual Health Centre, and I need to talk you through them.
Voi ei... onko se huono uutinen? Olen ollut todella huolissani viime viikosta asti.
Your test shows you're HIV positive, Mr Laine. It's manageable now with daily medication that keeps the virus undetectable and protects your health long term.
Onko lääke kallista, ja pitääkö minun ottaa sitä joka päivä loppuelämäni ajan?
You'll take one tablet daily, and we'll check your blood every three months. If you skip doses often, the virus could become resistant.
Täytyykö minun kertoa tästä työnantajalleni, tai voiko joku muu saada tietää ilman lupaani?
No, you're not required to tell your employer. Your results stay confidential under privacy law, unless you choose to share them yourself.
Se helpottaa paljon. Entä lääkkeen hinta, onko se kallis ilman vakuutusta?
The medication is heavily subsidised through the PBS, so it won't be a large out-of-pocket cost for you each month.
Kiitos, se rauhoittaa mieltäni paljon. Milloin minun pitäisi tulla seuraavaan tarkastukseen?
Let's book you in for two weeks from now, on a Thursday morning, for a follow-up blood test and counselling session.
Kiitos paljon, tulen mielelläni silloin. Arvostan todella apuanne tässä tilanteessa.
Terms in this dialogue that cost marks
CCL is marked on information transferred. These Australian terms have no direct word in most test languages — get one wrong and the segment's information is gone.
- pbsSano 'PBS' englanniksi ja selitä lyhyesti 'lääkkeiden hintatukijärjestelmä', koska suoraa suomalaista vastinetta ei ole.
Practise it
Reading a transcript is not interpreting. The free daily dialogue on this site plays each segment at native speed, records you, and marks the information you transferred against the same categories examiners use — omissions, distortions, insertions — so you know where the marks went.

How the test works
Practice dialogue written to the CCL specification (two speakers, segments of 35 words or fewer, about 300 words). It is a practice text, not a NAATI test paper, and the AI score is this site's estimate, not a NAATI result. All Finnish dialogues · All languages
