Mrs Beaumont, thanks for coming in today - let's talk through your cataract surgery at Flinders Medical Centre before Thursday, so you know exactly what to expect.
Bonjour, oui, je suis un peu inquiète... est-ce que je vais retrouver une bonne vue après l'opération, ou ça prend du temps ?
The surgery itself takes about twenty minutes, done under local anaesthetic - you'll be awake the whole time but won't feel any pain at all.
D'accord, ça me rassure un peu. Mais est-ce que je pourrai conduire toute seule pour rentrer chez moi après l'opération ?
You mustn't drive for twenty-four hours afterwards, and if the numbness or blurred vision doesn't ease by evening, call the clinic immediately.
Très bien, je ferai attention. Est-ce qu'il faudra aussi mettre des gouttes pour les yeux après la chirurgie ?
Use the eye drops four times a day for two weeks, and never skip a dose even if your eye feels fine.
Merci, je noterai bien les horaires. Est-ce que Medicare ou mon assurance privée va couvrir les frais de l'opération ?
