Back Pain Assessment at a Physiotherapy Clinic
Physiotherapist (speaking English) and Client (speaking German) talk through “Back Pain Assessment at a Physiotherapy Clinic”. You interpret both ways — English into German, and German into English — one segment at a time, exactly as in the CCL test.

Take a seat, Mr Baumgartner — can you tell me when this back pain started and what you were doing at the time it began?
On a scale of zero to ten, how would you rate the pain right now, and does it shoot down either leg at all?
Have you noticed any numbness, tingling, or weakness in your legs, or any trouble controlling your bladder or bowels?
Nein, nichts davon.
Good news — we don't need an X-ray yet. I'll start you on some gentle stretching exercises and recommend paracetamol for the pain.
Verstehe.
Exactly — if there's no improvement within two weeks, your GP can refer you for imaging or a specialist review, and Medicare will cover that consultation.
Medicare only covers physio if your GP sets up a chronic disease management plan — otherwise you'll pay privately or use health insurance.
Terms in this dialogue that cost marks
CCL is marked on information transferred. These Australian terms have no direct word in most test languages — get one wrong and the segment's information is gone.
Practise it
Reading a transcript is not interpreting. The free daily dialogue on this site plays each segment at native speed, records you, and marks the information you transferred against the same categories examiners use — omissions, distortions, insertions — so you know where the marks went.

How the test works
Practice dialogue written to the CCL specification (two speakers, segments of 35 words or fewer, about 300 words). It is a practice text, not a NAATI test paper, and the AI score is this site's estimate, not a NAATI result. All German dialogues · All languages
