Starting HIV Antiretroviral Therapy
Doctor (speaking English) and Patient (speaking Indonesian) talk through “Starting HIV Antiretroviral Therapy”. You interpret both ways — English into Indonesian, and Indonesian into English — one segment at a time, exactly as in the CCL test.

Let's discuss starting antiretroviral therapy today, Pak Santoso, since your recent test results confirmed the diagnosis. This medication controls the HIV virus, though it won't cure the infection completely.
Baik, Dokter. Saya agak cemas mendengarnya, tapi saya siap memulai pengobatan ini kalau memang bisa menjaga kesehatan saya.
You'll take one tablet each day, at the same time, with or without food. Consistency is very important for this treatment to work.
Baik, satu tablet setiap hari, saya rasa saya bisa melakukannya. Tapi apakah obatnya mahal?
The medication is subsidised through the PBS, so it's affordable. Common side effects include mild nausea or headaches, usually easing within two weeks.
Syukurlah kalau begitu terjangkau.
Yes, come back immediately if symptoms persist beyond two weeks or worsen. Otherwise, we'll monitor you with blood tests every three months.
Baik, saya mengerti. Apakah saya perlu berpuasa dulu sebelum tes darah setiap tiga bulan itu?
No, you don't need to fast beforehand. Just bring your Medicare card and appointment letter, and we'll organise the pathology referral for you.
That's entirely your choice—this information stays confidential unless you decide to share it yourself. Support counselling is also available anytime if you'd like.
Terima kasih banyak, Dokter.
Terms in this dialogue that cost marks
CCL is marked on information transferred. These Australian terms have no direct word in most test languages — get one wrong and the segment's information is gone.

Reading a transcript is not interpreting. The free daily dialogue on this site plays each segment at native speed, records you, and marks the information you transferred against the same categories examiners use — omissions, distortions, insertions — so you know where the marks went.
