Ms. Sok, I'm Investigator Hayes from Fire and Rescue NSW, working alongside local police on the fire that damaged your restaurant late Sunday night.
Investigators found the fire started near the kitchen around eleven-thirty at night, roughly ninety minutes after closing time. Did anyone else hold keys to the premises?
We also found broken glass near the back door, which suggests forced entry. Was your alarm system actually working that night?
If the alarm wasn't working, insurance may question your claim unless you can prove regular servicing. Do you have any maintenance records available?
The investigation usually takes around two weeks to complete. Could you also check whether your car park camera recorded anything between ten and midnight?
Yes, certainly. Call our investigation line on 1300 795 099 and quote reference number FR dash two two nine one when you ring.
Terms in this dialogue that cost marks
CCL is marked on information transferred. These Australian terms have no direct word in most test languages — get one wrong and the segment's information is gone.
Practise it
Reading a transcript is not interpreting. The free daily dialogue on this site plays each segment at native speed, records you, and marks the information you transferred against the same categories examiners use — omissions, distortions, insertions — so you know where the marks went.
