Joining a Union

Hello, I'm here from the union to talk about membership. Would you like to hear more about joining and what benefits are included for workers like you?

There's no joining fee, but a small weekly subscription of about five dollars covers legal support, advice, and representation if needed.

Under the Fair Work Commission rules, your employer cannot dismiss you for joining a union, as long as you don't breach your contract.

Terms in this dialogue that cost marks
CCL is marked on information transferred. These Australian terms have no direct word in most test languages — get one wrong and the segment's information is gone.
- fair work直接说英文 Fair Work，因为这是机构专有名词。
- fair work commission直接说英文名称 Fair Work Commission，可在后面加一句简短说明“公平工作委员会”帮助听众理解，但机构名本身建议保留英文。
