Of course. Keep your cover letter under one page, and make sure to mention any local experience if you have some, even part-time work.

Not necessarily. Many employers will still consider overseas experience if you can clearly explain your transferable skills during the interview process.

Yes, a short course could definitely help. TAFE NSW offers several certificate courses that often include a short work placement component too.

Most certificate courses run for about six months full-time, though the exact fees vary depending on the course level and provider.
