Thanks for bringing your mother in today. Can you tell me when you first noticed changes in her memory, thinking, or daily behaviour?
له شپږو میاشتو راهیسې مې مور د ورځې او د خبرو هېرول شروع کړي، هغه ورته پوښتنه څو ځله تکراروي.
Has she ever forgotten important appointments, gotten lost somewhere familiar like her own street, or repeated the same questions several times a day?
تیره میاشت درې ځله داسې شوي چې له جومات نه کور ته د راتلو لار یې هېره کړې وه، موږ باید ورپسې ولاړ شو.
I'd like to run a short memory test now, called the Mini-Mental State Exam. It only takes about ten minutes and helps us understand her thinking clearly.
که دا ازموینه ښه پایله ونه لري، نو بیا به څه کیږي؟ زه یو څه اندیښمنه یم، خو تاسو ته مننه چې دا کار کوئ.
Her score was twenty-two out of thirty, which suggests mild cognitive impairment rather than full dementia. I'll refer her to a specialist geriatrician for further assessment.

There's a medication called donepezil that may slow the progression, though it isn't a cure. If she doesn't tolerate it well, we'll adjust the dose carefully.

I recommend contacting Dementia Australia's support line for guidance and practical strategies, and we'll see her again in six weeks at Bankstown-Lidcombe Hospital.
