Mr Nowak, your scan from Royal Prince Alfred Hospital shows a mass about four centimetres in your liver. Have you noticed any pain, tiredness, or loss of appetite recently?
Tak, doktorze, od jakiegoś czasu czuję ból pod żebrami po prawej stronie i jestem bardzo zmęczony. Straciłem też apetyt i schudłem kilka kilogramów w ciągu miesiąca.
We need a biopsy to confirm the type of tumour. A multidisciplinary team, including surgeons and oncologists, will review your case afterwards.
Czy biopsja jest bezpieczna? I czy będzie można to usunąć chirurgicznie, jeśli okaże się to konieczne?
Surgery may not be possible if your liver function tests show cirrhosis or if the tumour is too close to major blood vessels.

The biopsy will happen this Thursday, and the multidisciplinary team will meet the following Monday to discuss your results and treatment plan.

Yes, an accredited interpreter will be arranged for every appointment. Medicare covers most costs, so you won't need private hospital cover unless you prefer it.
