Full transcript
Good morning, I'm the practice nurse. I understand your son has been coughing and wheezing at night. When did these symptoms start?
Does he have any triggers like exercise, dust, or pets? Also, does he use his puffer regularly, and do you have a spacer device at home?
It's important he uses the spacer every time; without it, less medicine reaches his lungs. Using the reliever more than twice a week suggests poor control.
I'll prepare a written asthma action plan for the GP to sign, and you can give a copy to his school for emergencies.
If his symptoms don't improve within two weeks, I'll refer him to the respiratory clinic at Westmead Children's Hospital for further assessment.
The medication is generally safe; side effects are rare. Let's book a follow-up appointment in two weeks to check his progress.

Reading a transcript is not interpreting. The free daily dialogue on this site plays each segment at native speed, records you, and marks the information you transferred against the same categories examiners use — omissions, distortions, insertions — so you know where the marks went.
