Mrs. Ranasinghe, before we start today's check-up, can you tell me if you've noticed the baby moving as usual this week, and how you're feeling overall?

That's good to hear. You're now 32 weeks along, so let's check your blood pressure and look for any swelling in your ankles or hands.

Your blood pressure reading is 118 over 76, which is normal. I'll also book you for a glucose tolerance test at Dubbo Base Hospital.

Yes, you'll need to fast from midnight tonight, and you must not eat or drink anything except plain water before the test tomorrow morning.

That's usually normal at this stage of pregnancy, but if the pain becomes sharp or constant, please go straight to the emergency department.
