Thanks for coming in today. Can you tell me how long you've recently been experiencing these headaches, and roughly how often they occur each week?

I'd like to check your blood pressure now, and refer you for a CT scan at Liverpool Hospital just to rule out anything more serious.

It's most likely tension headaches, but the scan will confirm there's nothing else causing it, like high blood pressure. You'll also need a fasting blood test beforehand.

You must fast for at least eight hours beforehand, water only. If you eat anything, we'll need to reschedule your Thursday morning appointment.
