Thanks for waiting, Ms Tran. I'm Sarah, the community palliative care nurse from Silver Chain. How has your father been feeling since our last visit yesterday afternoon?
Dạ, đêm qua ba cháu đau nhiều hơn, cứ trở mình liên tục, và ăn uống cũng kém đi rất nhiều so với tuần trước.
Is he taking the morphine every four hours as the doctor prescribed, or has he been skipping doses because he feels unwell?
Ba cháu chỉ chịu uống thuốc vào buổi sáng thôi, còn ban đêm thì không chịu uống vì sợ bị nghiện, nên cứ ráng chịu đau.
Morphine at this stage doesn't cause addiction, it simply manages pain. If it's not settled by tomorrow morning, we'll raise the dose slightly.

Drowsiness is common in the first few days and usually improves. I'll also prescribe a mild laxative, since morphine often causes constipation.
