Pre-Operative Cataract Surgery Consultation
Ophthalmology Nurse Johnson (speaking English) and Patient Kolev (speaking Bulgarian) talk through “Pre-Operative Cataract Surgery Consultation”. You interpret both ways — English into Bulgarian, and Bulgarian into English — one segment at a time, exactly as in the CCL test.

Full transcript
Mr. Kolev, thank you for coming in early today — your cataract operation at Sydney Eye Hospital is scheduled for next Thursday morning.
The procedure itself usually takes about twenty minutes, under local anaesthetic, so you'll stay awake but relaxed and comfortable throughout the whole appointment.
You shouldn't drive for at least twenty-four hours after the surgery, and not again until your surgeon confirms your vision has settled properly.
You'll use antibiotic drops four times a day for about two weeks; mild discomfort is normal, but please call us if it worsens.
We'll book your follow-up appointment in about six weeks, unless you notice sudden pain or blurred vision sooner, in which case please come straight in.
Medicare covers most of the cost if you're a public patient at the hospital, though you may have a small gap fee otherwise.
Terms in this dialogue that cost marks
CCL is marked on information transferred. These Australian terms have no direct word in most test languages — get one wrong and the segment's information is gone.
Practise it
Reading a transcript is not interpreting. The free daily dialogue on this site plays each segment at native speed, records you, and marks the information you transferred against the same categories examiners use — omissions, distortions, insertions — so you know where the marks went.

How the test works
Practice dialogue written to the CCL specification (two speakers, segments of 35 words or fewer, about 300 words). It is a practice text, not a NAATI test paper, and the AI score is this site's estimate, not a NAATI result. All Bulgarian dialogues · All languages
