Mr Vermeer, your scan shows a two-centimetre tumour in the right lobe of your liver. Today I'd like to explain the treatment options we can consider together.

Ablation burns the tumour using a needle; recovery is usually about one week. Surgery removes part of the liver and needs four to six weeks to heal fully.

Princess Alexandra Hospital treats both private and public patients. Without private health insurance, you would join the public waiting list, currently about three weeks long.
