Cracked Molar Referral at the Dentist
Dentist (speaking English) and Patient (speaking Italian) talk through “Cracked Molar Referral at the Dentist”. You interpret both ways — English into Italian, and Italian into English — one segment at a time, exactly as in the CCL test.

Thanks for coming in, Mr. Bianchi — let's take a look at what's causing that sharp pain on your upper left side.
Grazie, dottoressa.
The X-ray shows the crack runs down into the root, so I'll refer you to an endodontist at Flinders Medical Centre for a root canal procedure.
Capisco.
If you don't have private health insurance, the public waiting list applies, but urgent cases like yours are usually seen within two weeks.
I'll prescribe antibiotics since there's some swelling, plus something stronger for the pain — but please don't drink alcohol while taking either medication.
The clinic will call you within three business days once the endodontist confirms an appointment slot — please stick to soft foods until then.
Grazie mille, dottoressa.
If the pain worsens or you notice swelling in your face, don't wait — go straight to your nearest emergency department.
Terms in this dialogue that cost marks
CCL is marked on information transferred. These Australian terms have no direct word in most test languages — get one wrong and the segment's information is gone.
- private health insuranceSi dice 'assicurazione sanitaria privata'.
- waiting listSi traduce come 'lista d'attesa'.
- emergency departmentSi traduce con 'pronto soccorso', termine standard e riconosciuto in italiano.

Reading a transcript is not interpreting. The free daily dialogue on this site plays each segment at native speed, records you, and marks the information you transferred against the same categories examiners use — omissions, distortions, insertions — so you know where the marks went.

How the test works
Practice dialogue written to the CCL specification (two speakers, segments of 35 words or fewer, about 300 words). It is a practice text, not a NAATI test paper, and the AI score is this site's estimate, not a NAATI result. All Italian dialogues · All languages
