I'm Dr. Ellis, the neurologist looking after your husband. Could you walk me through exactly how he fell this morning?

The CT scan shows a small subdural hematoma, a thin layer of bleeding beneath the skull. We need to monitor it closely over the next day.

No, surgery isn't needed right now. We'll repeat the CT scan in 24 hours; if the bleeding increases, we'll refer him urgently to Westmead Hospital for neurosurgery.

Watch for severe headache, repeated vomiting, growing confusion, or weakness on one side. If any of these occur, call triple zero immediately.
