You mentioned your eyes have been itchy and watery for the past ten days. Have you noticed any sneezing or a blocked nose as well?
はい、目のかゆみと涙目がこの十日間ずっと続いています。それに、朝起きるとくしゃみが止まらなくて、鼻もつまっています。
That sounds like allergic rhinitis, commonly known as hay fever. Are you currently taking any medication, or have you tried anything so far?
日本から持ってきた点眼薬を使ってみましたが、あまり効果がありませんでした。他には何も試していません。
I'd recommend a non-drowsy antihistamine like Telfast, available at most pharmacies including Chemist Warehouse. Take one tablet daily, preferably in the morning.
わかりました。副作用はありますか？車の運転をすることが多いので、少し心配です。
It shouldn't cause drowsiness, but everyone reacts differently, so avoid driving until you know how your body responds. Also try a saline nasal spray.
どのくらいの期間使えばいいですか？それとも、専門医に診てもらう必要がありますか。
You can use it for several weeks during pollen season. If symptoms don't improve within two weeks, please see your GP for further assessment.
オーストラリアの花粉の季節はいつ頃なんですか？日本と時期が違うので、よくわかりません。
Spring, roughly September to November, is worst here in Victoria, especially on windy days. Keep windows closed and check the pollen forecast each morning.
