Thank you for coming in today to give your statement. Can you tell me exactly what you saw near the Chatswood interchange on Thursday evening? Please start from the beginning.
Before we continue, can you tell me what time exactly this happened, and how many vehicles were involved in the collision?
That's helpful. Can you now describe the vehicle that struck the motorcyclist, including its colour, make, and any visible damage?
Did you manage to note the full number plate, or only part of it before the car drove off?
That's still useful, even without the full plate. NSW Police will check nearby CCTV footage from the Chatswood interchange to help identify the vehicle and driver.
You'll need to read through the entire statement carefully, confirm every detail is accurate, and sign each page before you leave today.
