Good afternoon, I have your test results. Your HIV test has come back positive, but we have effective treatment available at Sydney Sexual Health Centre.

We'll start you on antiretroviral therapy, one tablet daily. It controls the virus effectively, though you must take it every day without missing doses.

If your viral load stays undetectable for at least six months, you cannot transmit HIV to your partner through sex. We can also discuss PrEP for them.
