Thanks for coming in, Mrs. Conti — let's go over what to expect before your reconstruction surgery at Liverpool Hospital next Thursday.

We'll perform a skin-sparing mastectomy with immediate implant reconstruction. The operation usually takes about three hours, and you won't need a second procedure unless complications arise.

The scar usually fades to a thin line within twelve months, and yes — you'll need follow-up checkups every year for at least five years afterwards.
