Drug Bust: Duty Lawyer Advises Client Before Police Interview
Duty Lawyer (speaking English) and Client (speaking Mandarin) talk through “Drug Bust: Duty Lawyer Advises Client Before Police Interview”. You interpret both ways — English into Mandarin, and Mandarin into English — one segment at a time, exactly as in the CCL test.

Full transcript
Good morning, I'm your duty lawyer from Legal Aid NSW. Before the police interview starts, I need to explain your legal rights. Do you understand why you were arrested today?
You are not required to answer any questions without a lawyer present. If you stay silent, that is your legal right, not an admission of guilt.
The police will apply for bail conditions, including reporting weekly and surrendering your passport. If you breach these, you could be remanded in custody.
Your matter will be listed at Parramatta Local Court next Tuesday at 10am. I strongly recommend you attend with legal representation.
Bring your identification and any relevant documents. If you cannot attend, notify the court immediately to avoid a warrant being issued.
The court will consider the quantity, your record, and cooperation. I'll advise you further once we review the evidence together.

Reading a transcript is not interpreting. The free daily dialogue on this site plays each segment at native speed, records you, and marks the information you transferred against the same categories examiners use — omissions, distortions, insertions — so you know where the marks went.

How the test works
Practice dialogue written to the CCL specification (two speakers, segments of 35 words or fewer, about 300 words). It is a practice text, not a NAATI test paper, and the AI score is this site's estimate, not a NAATI result. All Mandarin dialogues · All languages
