Good morning, I'm your duty lawyer from Legal Aid NSW. Before the police interview starts, I need to explain your legal rights. Do you understand why you were arrested today?

You are not required to answer any questions without a lawyer present. If you stay silent, that is your legal right, not an admission of guilt.

The police will apply for bail conditions, including reporting weekly and surrendering your passport. If you breach these, you could be remanded in custody.
