Mental Health Intake Assessment
Mental Health Clinician (speaking English) and Client (speaking Pashto) talk through “Mental Health Intake Assessment”. You interpret both ways — English into Pashto, and Pashto into English — one segment at a time, exactly as in the CCL test.

Thanks for coming in today, Mr. Karimi. Your GP referred you because of ongoing worry and low mood — can you tell me how you've been feeling this week?
Have you noticed any thoughts of harming yourself, or trouble sleeping? On average, how many hours are you sleeping each night — is it under five?
That's helpful, thank you. I'd like to refer you to headspace Ipswich for six subsidised sessions with a psychologist, alongside your GP's ongoing care.
Yes, we'll book an interpreter for every session. Your first appointment is next Thursday at two o'clock in the afternoon.
Of course, your wife is welcome to join, unless you'd prefer the first session alone. Either way, we'll support whatever feels comfortable for you.
Yes — Lifeline is 13 11 14, available 24 hours every day. Please call them immediately if you ever feel unsafe, even at night.
Terms in this dialogue that cost marks
CCL is marked on information transferred. These Australian terms have no direct word in most test languages — get one wrong and the segment's information is gone.
Practise it
Reading a transcript is not interpreting. The free daily dialogue on this site plays each segment at native speed, records you, and marks the information you transferred against the same categories examiners use — omissions, distortions, insertions — so you know where the marks went.

How the test works
Practice dialogue written to the CCL specification (two speakers, segments of 35 words or fewer, about 300 words). It is a practice text, not a NAATI test paper, and the AI score is this site's estimate, not a NAATI result. All Pashto dialogues · All languages
