Elena, thanks for coming by the lunchroom today. You asked about joining the union here at the Woolworths distribution centre in Truganina.

Yes, you can join anytime, even during probation. However, if you're not yet a member, we can't attend meetings with management on your behalf.

No, that's illegal. The Fair Work Act protects you from any adverse action for joining a union, including dismissal or reduced shifts.

It's deducted automatically each pay cycle once you sign the form. You'll get a receipt by email, and you can cancel membership anytime in writing.
