Mrs Nikolić, your glucose tolerance test came back a little high, so we need to discuss gestational diabetes and how we'll manage your pregnancy.

We'll refer you to a diabetes educator and dietitian at Sunshine Hospital, and you'll need to check your blood sugar four times a day for two weeks.

You don't need to cut out all carbohydrates or fruit, just watch your portions and check your blood sugar before and after meals.

You can keep working unless you feel dizzy, faint or unwell. If that happens, your doctor can give you a medical certificate for reduced hours or time off.
