Cataract Surgery Consultation
Ophthalmology Nurse (speaking English) and Patient (speaking Serbian) talk through “Cataract Surgery Consultation”. You interpret both ways — English into Serbian, and Serbian into English — one segment at a time, exactly as in the CCL test.

Full transcript
Good afternoon, Mr. Jovanović. Thanks for coming in today. Dr. Petrović reviewed your scans and confirmed cataracts in both eyes, which explains your recent blurry vision.
Da, sestro, poslednjih nekoliko meseci vid mi je sve mutniji, posebno noću kada vozim. Teško čitam sitna slova, a svetla iz farova me jako zasenjuju.
The surgery itself usually takes about twenty minutes per eye, and we typically operate at Wollongong Hospital. There's currently a wait list of roughly six weeks for non-urgent cases.
Da li ću biti budan tokom operacije? Malo me je strah opšte anestezije, imao sam lošu reakciju jednom davno kada su mi vadili zub.
We normally use local anaesthetic drops, so you won't need a general anaesthetic unless you have severe anxiety or can't stay still during the procedure.
Razumem.
You shouldn't drive for at least 24 hours after surgery, and your vision may stay blurry for a few days while the eye heals.
If your diabetes isn't well controlled, we may need to delay surgery until your blood sugar levels are stable, to reduce infection risk.
Medicare covers the public hospital surgery, but if you choose a private ophthalmologist, there may be an out-of-pocket gap fee to discuss beforehand.
Terms in this dialogue that cost marks
CCL is marked on information transferred. These Australian terms have no direct word in most test languages — get one wrong and the segment's information is gone.
- medicareZadržati izvorni naziv 'Medicare' bez prevođenja, jer je to ime konkretne institucije.
- public hospitalReci 'javna bolnica' – direktan i uobičajen prevod.

Reading a transcript is not interpreting. The free daily dialogue on this site plays each segment at native speed, records you, and marks the information you transferred against the same categories examiners use — omissions, distortions, insertions — so you know where the marks went.

How the test works
Practice dialogue written to the CCL specification (two speakers, segments of 35 words or fewer, about 300 words). It is a practice text, not a NAATI test paper, and the AI score is this site's estimate, not a NAATI result. All Serbian dialogues · All languages
