Mr Öztürk, thanks for coming in before your knee surgery scheduled for next Thursday morning. I need to go through some important pre-operative questions with you now.

Are you currently taking any blood thinners, such as aspirin, clopidogrel or warfarin? If so, we may need to stop them several days before your surgery.

You'll need to fast for six hours before the operation — no solid food, and only small sips of water are allowed until then.
