Mrs. Kovalenko, your claim for the hip replacement at St George Private Hospital was rejected. Can you explain what reason the insurer gave you?
У листі написали, що це «пов'язано з наявним захворюванням» і що діє дванадцятимісячний період очікування. Але операцію мені зробили терміново, і я не розуміла, що це стосується саме стегна.
Hip replacement falls under hospital cover, not extras. A twelve-month waiting period applies to pre-existing conditions. When did you upgrade to this hospital policy?
Я підвищила рівень страхування вісім місяців тому. До цього в мене була лише базова страховка, без покриття операцій у лікарні.
Since you upgraded only eight months ago, the surgery was assessed as pre-existing. If you disagree, you can lodge an appeal through the Private Health Insurance Ombudsman.

You'll need a letter from your orthopaedic specialist confirming the condition wasn't diagnosed before the upgrade, plus any GP records from that earlier period.
