Hi Kateryna, you're now twenty-six weeks along, so it's time to book your glucose tolerance test at Liverpool Hospital next Thursday morning.

It checks for gestational diabetes, which can affect both you and the baby. You'll need to fast for eight hours beforehand, so no food or coffee that morning.

If you vomit within thirty minutes of drinking it, we may need to reschedule the test. Otherwise, it takes about two hours total, including three blood samples.

They'll take blood three times: before you drink the glucose, one hour afterward, and again two hours after that, to track your levels.
