Discussing a Dementia Diagnosis and Care Options
Geriatrician (speaking English) and Daughter (speaking Macedonian) talk through “Discussing a Dementia Diagnosis and Care Options”. You interpret both ways — English into Macedonian, and Macedonian into English — one segment at a time, exactly as in the CCL test.

Thank you for coming in today, Mrs Petrovska. I've reviewed your mother's scans from Wollongong Hospital, and I'd like to discuss the results with you now, if that's alright.
The scans show mild shrinkage in the brain, which is consistent with early-stage dementia. You mentioned she's had memory lapses for about six months, is that correct?
I'd like to refer her for a My Aged Care assessment, unless there's an immediate safety concern at home we should address sooner.
The assessment usually takes about four weeks, and it will look closely at what home support and equipment she may need going forward.
We can start a medication called donepezil, though it isn't a cure, it may help slow the progression of her symptoms over time.
Let's book a follow-up appointment in six weeks, on a Thursday afternoon, to check how she's responding to the new medication.
Terms in this dialogue that cost marks
CCL is marked on information transferred. These Australian terms have no direct word in most test languages — get one wrong and the segment's information is gone.

Reading a transcript is not interpreting. The free daily dialogue on this site plays each segment at native speed, records you, and marks the information you transferred against the same categories examiners use — omissions, distortions, insertions — so you know where the marks went.

How the test works
Practice dialogue written to the CCL specification (two speakers, segments of 35 words or fewer, about 300 words). It is a practice text, not a NAATI test paper, and the AI score is this site's estimate, not a NAATI result. All Macedonian dialogues · All languages
