Gestational Diabetes Screening Follow-up
Midwife (speaking English) and Patient (speaking Russian) talk through “Gestational Diabetes Screening Follow-up”. You interpret both ways — English into Russian, and Russian into English — one segment at a time, exactly as in the CCL test.

Full transcript
Mrs Ivanova, your glucose tolerance test showed a fasting reading of eight point two millimoles, which is higher than we'd like at twenty-four weeks.
Ой... это плохо? Что это значит для меня и для ребёнка?
This means you have gestational diabetes. It's manageable through diet changes and regular blood sugar monitoring, and it usually resolves after birth.
Хорошо, а что именно мне можно есть? Мне придётся полностью отказаться от сладкого?
I'll refer you to a dietitian at John Hunter Hospital, and give you a glucose monitor to check your levels four times daily.
А мне нужно будет принимать лекарства, или только следить самой?
If your readings stay above target after two weeks, we may start insulin injections, but many women manage well with diet alone.
Это как-то повлияет на здоровье ребёнка, если сахар не будет под контролем?
Good control really does protect your baby, reducing risks like excess growth or early delivery. We'll keep a close eye on both of you.
Когда мне нужно прийти на приём в следующий раз?
Your next appointment is Friday the fourteenth at ten a.m., back here at John Hunter Hospital. Please bring your glucose diary with you.
Хорошо, я запишу дату и обязательно принесу дневник с показателями сахара. Спасибо большое.
Terms in this dialogue that cost marks
CCL is marked on information transferred. These Australian terms have no direct word in most test languages — get one wrong and the segment's information is gone.
- excessСказать «франшиза» — это стандартный русский страховой термин.
Practise it
Reading a transcript is not interpreting. The free daily dialogue on this site plays each segment at native speed, records you, and marks the information you transferred against the same categories examiners use — omissions, distortions, insertions — so you know where the marks went.

How the test works
Practice dialogue written to the CCL specification (two speakers, segments of 35 words or fewer, about 300 words). It is a practice text, not a NAATI test paper, and the AI score is this site's estimate, not a NAATI result. All Russian dialogues · All languages
