Recurring Headaches
Doctor (speaking English) and Patient (speaking Russian) talk through “Recurring Headaches”. You interpret both ways — English into Russian, and Russian into English — one segment at a time, exactly as in the CCL test.

So, you've been having headaches for the past three weeks — can you describe exactly where the pain sits and how it feels?
Боль в основном в области лба и висков, особенно к вечеру, и от яркого света становится ещё хуже.
Besides the head pain, are you experiencing any nausea, vision changes, or numbness anywhere, or is it just the headache itself?
Онемения нет, но иногда подступает тошнота, и я плохо переношу яркий свет и громкие звуки.
Have you tried anything like Panadol or Nurofen for the pain, and if so, how often are you taking them each week?
Я пью Панадол почти через день, иногда до четырёх раз в неделю, но толку от него мало.
If the headaches don't settle once we adjust your medication, I'll refer you for a scan at Wollongong Hospital to rule out anything serious.
А это обследование покроет Medicare, или мне придётся платить за него самому?
Yes, it's covered under Medicare, but you'll need a referral letter first, and please stop taking Panadol every single day — it can actually worsen headaches over time.
Хорошо, я перестану пить его каждый день. А когда мне прийти на следующий приём?
Come back and see me in two weeks — please keep a diary noting exactly when the headaches start and what seems to trigger them each time.
Хорошо, доктор, я обязательно буду вести дневник и приду через две недели с записями.
Terms in this dialogue that cost marks
CCL is marked on information transferred. These Australian terms have no direct word in most test languages — get one wrong and the segment's information is gone.
- medicareГоворить просто «Medicare» как есть, это устоявшееся название собственной системы, аналогов которой нет в русскоязычных странах.
- referral letterПереводить как 'направление' или 'направительное письмо' — стандартный медицинский термин.
Practise it
Reading a transcript is not interpreting. The free daily dialogue on this site plays each segment at native speed, records you, and marks the information you transferred against the same categories examiners use — omissions, distortions, insertions — so you know where the marks went.

How the test works
Practice dialogue written to the CCL specification (two speakers, segments of 35 words or fewer, about 300 words). It is a practice text, not a NAATI test paper, and the AI score is this site's estimate, not a NAATI result. All Russian dialogues · All languages
